Happy New Year!
Hello, Doorkes!
It's the last day of 2006! I hope we can all leave it feeling like we tried our best to have a fun time and do some good out there in our world!
Here's some photos from a few shows out in England which is where we brought our year to an end. http://www.lasthours.org.uk/archive/photos/propagandhi.htm
If you are in a band and you are sick of sweatshop made, and completely environmentally unsound t-shirts for your band check out ethicalthreads.co.uk (in UK, Ireland) or Fairtradeclothing.ca (Canada). We've dealt with them on our last tours and all has worked out great. If you live somewhere other than the listed countries you may have to put your mind to it and figure out where to get them the same way we had to.The prices are a little more expensive. These prices could be brought down if a bunch of bands started using these companies instead of just going for high prifit margins and bargain bin wholesale prices. I encourage everybody to do their best. The idea of political punk shirts being printed on conventional shirts becomes even more laughable to me everyday as time rolls on.
If the bigger record labels would put their money where their mouths are and print their cds on recycled post-consumer paper it would bring the price down for everyone as well. So far we have not seen anything close to effort on this point. Maybe we would start to take the labels a little more seriously if they would try to do something worthwhile. Until that time we'll take the huge hit with a few others. Thanks Punks!
Oh well, I'm off to the mall to go act all crazy and rebellious!
Happy New Year!!
