Every now and then we get a few emails from Germany asking about the intro to the song "Die Jugend Marschiert" off of our last record. The sample was an old National Socialist (Nazi) propaganda song . Yes we are aware of this. Some people seem like they are offended by it, which I do not understand. This intro relates to the song in the way that it is the ultimate warning about where an ultra-nationalist, militaristic society can go. If you read the lyrics to the song and take a look around us it is an apt and proper warning for us all, I believe.
If it is still available somewhere near you, check out the November issue of New Internationalist magazine. It has great articles on Fair Trade, sweatshops, organics, ethical shopping etc. I think the most sustainable and ethical way to shop is to buy way less crap. Also, the less your food has to travel to get to your filthy cake-hole the better it is for the environment. Meow!
