Round Two!
Hello, Spuds! i have edited last night post due to new info.... Last night I typed up a nice update and then pushed some button and erased the stupid thing so here I sit once again! Well, We're back for our prairie firestorm! A good time was had by all! We went hard, we came home and droozled out in The Arson Capital Of Canada.haha... In Saskatoon, Propagandhis' corporate partner, Shitty Mc Shake was on hand, furiously shaking his angriest fists, tripping over the carpet, and generally going wild. The little man has made his son proud. On the road this time around I was reading the Amazing book,"What is The What". It's a novel based on the life of Valentino Achack Deng, a Sudanese refugee living in Atlanta. Not very often, despite the neverending sad, sad, stories I end up reading, do tears end up filling my little ducts. This book is amazing. The story of this kid crossing the desert with his friends and watching them drop one by one to hunger, disease and war is devastating. The things that happen to some people around the world, including here in Winnipeg, are truly astounding. Of particular interest to me in this book was the side story of a kid named Daniel, nicknamed Bonga, or "Shit" in english. Something about it struck so deep into the caverns of my central lizard brain and into the depths of my little doomed heart. Check it out. I don't know if anyone saw that in Ottawa last week an 11 year old girl named Asmahan Mansour was ejected from a childrens soccer game for refusing to remove her Hijab. Every Tuesday in the summer I play soccer with little kids from all over the world. It's extremely important to recognize what is, or may be important to minority religions in a society, especially a group as persecuted as Muslims in North America. Never once has a hijab or any other religious item caused an injury.(which is obvious, but "threat of injury" was the reason given for the rule). If injury is the threat maybe it's time for kids to stop "heading" the ball since it will cause some slight brain damage after a certain amount of repetition. Rediculous! Perhaps! Here is a quote from the kids friend. "It's her religion and she can't just take it off," Sarah Osborne, one of Mansour's teamates, said. "This is not fair. We're only 11. We just wanted to play soccer." Simple, yet smart! Total Cocknosed Soccer Board member, Brian Barwick, had this to say after upholding the referees decision,"There's a set of laws and rules - and Law 4 outlines basic equipment." way to go goofball! You do your lifes duty and get kids ejected from childrens games. whoohoo... be proud of yourself. Read next quote in a robot voice, please. "Brian must follow rules-no hijab on field-Law 4 state this-little girl must play backgammon instead." Would it not make sense to have all kids feel included and participating in activities rather than marginalizing them and making their lives a lot harder? Kudos to her friends that decided to leave with her! That is what real friends do! Anway last on the list I'll encourage any Portugese speaking Propagandhi friends to check out our friend Ericas' Brazilian Prop website!.. www.propagandhi.com.br Shukraan Laka! -Todd.
