IN CASE YOU ALREADY FORGOT
Don’t think for a second that just because fellow axe-holder Beave thought The Departed was a good movie that i won’t LITERALLY take a two-handed sword to others who share his perverted worldview.
If you have any doubt about this, consider carefully the fact that Beaver was 6′2″ when he first joined the band.

Quentin Tarantino is a Nerd!
A stoked Jordy-Boy Samolesky has just left my crib, tape in one hand, drum practice pad in the other. The Propagandhi machine has had it’s wheels and cogs well oiled and is ready for the next musical adventure! It’s going to be a good one! There are some wicked riffs flying back and forth. I am really excited. The next record is going to be a really good ‘ern! It will not take as long as usual as well. We have a new lease on life and are organized in such a way that the tunes will be hitting your ears sooner than later!
So that’s that! I would like to say two things now. SNFU (Better Than A Stick In The Eye, In the Meantime and In Between Time, and If You Swear You Will Catch No fish!) are still the creators of the best 3 punk records ever. And, secondly, I can’t believe how many angry people have emailed us about the post Chris made about some movie a few weeks ago. haha.. whoo whoo..hahaha…No wonder he loves doing that.
Skritch cleans stinks in salt water.
A FRIENDLY REMINDER
I just wanted to remind you people that anyone who liked the movie “The Departed” should be LITERALLY shot in the face with an unbelievably large and REAL shotgun. Because it’s IMPORTANT.
Day Before the Equinox!
The frost is still on the ground. But we are optimistic tommorrow will, in fact be the first day of spring!
I’m on a high today! After 23 years or Dio listening I got a thumbs up the Dio created devil horn salute from Ronnie himself. Not just once but 4 times. haha..It always pays to bring an old banner to the show! Boy, did those other headbangers crowded in there make my clothes smell! Anyway, life is complete!
Here’s something interesting that was sent to us by our Taiwanese friend, Em. It’s great to see Em stepping up to the plate and working on this campaign. The first site here is some information. Save Lo Sheng And the second is the campaign where you download their sign (if you agree with their demands) and send a picture of yourself holding it to Em so you can add your voice to the campaign as well. Here is a brief explaination about the campaign from Em:
“This is Em from Taiwan, I am recently working on a campaign to help out the leprosy patients in taiwan. As such a subject that never gets anybody’s attention. I am asking the anarchist/activist/punks worldwide to help!! (The reason I am passing this here is because the government and the media here in Taiwan is trying to shut us down, this is an emergency, so please, we all really appreciate any help!)
Because of the Police brutality in the recent protest, and their bulletin about entering the place in 2 weeks we are in urge need of help from people worldwide, who care about social changes and thinking politically/anarchy… Leprosy patients have been treated unjustly since the 19th century, and nowadays they still face different struggles, hence, we can no longer ignore this human rights violation in Taiwan.” Happy Lo sheng O.K! Take care! Get those cameras going! ‑todd.
Some Friday Night Movie Suggestions!
Check out the unbelievable movie “In This World”. Two young kids make a heroic and arduous journey from a town in Afghanistan to London England. Jeez.…
“The Lost Boys Of Sudan” is another great movie. What might the struggles of some newcomers to North America be? And Finally, check out, “Soldier Child” . It is about Uganda and the children who were forced to be part of Joseph Konys’ Lords Resistance Army. If you see this somewhere watch the additional footage. The government sodliers come across the children left behind after a battle with the LRA. Words cannot explain this scene. I suggest these movies because. I feel we have to try to understand what’s truly going on in this world to make it any better. Take care! Rock Hard, Ride Free! ‑rod.
Eine Kleine Nachtmusik...
At the same time that I’m really, really unreligious and see religion being a huge contributing factor to many problems in the world, I also see that people are very fast to put down anyone who doesn’t fit in and I appreciate standing with people who have ideas and culture and are sticking to them even though it may cause them some trouble. This often members of minority religions.
I was thinking about the last post I made and about exactly what the idea of being a minority in a society means. What does it feel like to have to endelssly defend yourself from the overwhelming, and uninformed prejudices of majority society? Should your life be dictated by the opinions and desires of a bunch of people who know nothing about you?
Should a majority of people actually vote to see if they think there should be Gay marriage or not when it really effects them so slightly while it may mean so much to the couple wanting to get married?
Of course the young Muslim girl, Asmahan Mansour, reacted protectively and with strong defiance when ordered by the Ref to remove her Hijab during a soccer game. She is in a society where every day Muslims are under attack. This is not an exaggeration in any way. Some Muslim women I know are under constant verbal attack downtown from idiotic Winnipeggers. The national and local papers are constantly questioning their humanity and character. Muslim people have many differing ideas, and many outlooks. But, of course half the people never bother to find out what those might be.
In the same way it’s very powerful for a woman in Afghanistan to go against what she is told and against that majority when she wants to live life without a burqa. Or a woman in North America who does not want to conform to this cuultures standards.
Perhaps it’s the semi-imagined persecution I felt I was enduring as a young headbanger on the streets of Regina, but the idea of people being who they are and feeling a sense of liberty is very powerful to me. We should all be on the lookout for how our society is molding our opinions and what it makes us accept or reject.
very often wonder why Muslims are constantly being portrayed as war lovers when it is really us attacking Muslim countries endlessly. Actually, make that us attacking every country endlessly. In fact North american citizens are following some of the most serious war makers of all time right into oblivion.
Anyway… get my drift?
See ya!
Round Two!
Hello, Spuds! i have edited last night post due to new info.… Last night I typed up a nice update and then pushed some button and erased the stupid thing so here I sit once again! Well, We’re back for our prairie firestorm! A good time was had by all! We went hard, we came home and droozled out in The Arson Capital Of Canada.haha… In Saskatoon, Propagandhis’ corporate partner, Shitty Mc Shake was on hand, furiously shaking his angriest fists, tripping over the carpet, and generally going wild. The little man has made his son proud. On the road this time around I was reading the Amazing book,“What is The What”. It’s a novel based on the life of Valentino Achack Deng, a Sudanese refugee living in Atlanta. Not very often, despite the neverending sad, sad, stories I end up reading, do tears end up filling my little ducts. This book is amazing. The story of this kid crossing the desert with his friends and watching them drop one by one to hunger, disease and war is devastating. The things that happen to some people around the world, including here in Winnipeg, are truly astounding. Of particular interest to me in this book was the side story of a kid named Daniel, nicknamed Bonga, or “Shit” in english. Something about it struck so deep into the caverns of my central lizard brain and into the depths of my little doomed heart. Check it out. I don’t know if anyone saw that in Ottawa last week an 11 year old girl named Asmahan Mansour was ejected from a childrens soccer game for refusing to remove her Hijab. Every Tuesday in the summer I play soccer with little kids from all over the world. It’s extremely important to recognize what is, or may be important to minority religions in a society, especially a group as persecuted as Muslims in North America. Never once has a hijab or any other religious item caused an injury.(which is obvious, but “threat of injury” was the reason given for the rule). If injury is the threat maybe it’s time for kids to stop “heading” the ball since it will cause some slight brain damage after a certain amount of repetition. Rediculous! Perhaps! Here is a quote from the kids friend. “It’s her religion and she can’t just take it off,” Sarah Osborne, one of Mansour’s teamates, said. “This is not fair. We’re only 11. We just wanted to play soccer.” Simple, yet smart! Total Cocknosed Soccer Board member, Brian Barwick, had this to say after upholding the referees decision,“There’s a set of laws and rules — and Law 4 outlines basic equipment.” way to go goofball! You do your lifes duty and get kids ejected from childrens games. whoohoo… be proud of yourself. Read next quote in a robot voice, please. “Brian must follow rules-no hijab on field-Law 4 state this-little girl must play backgammon instead.” Would it not make sense to have all kids feel included and participating in activities rather than marginalizing them and making their lives a lot harder? Kudos to her friends that decided to leave with her! That is what real friends do! Anway last on the list I’ll encourage any Portugese speaking Propagandhi friends to check out our friend Ericas’ Brazilian Prop website!.. www.propagandhi.com.br Shukraan Laka! ‑Todd.
A MOMENTOUS DAY
Beave turns 28 and Ryan Smyth ends up in Long Island. Coincidence? I think not.
I CANNOT GET THIS TIME BACK
As both a descendant of the people of Ireland and especially as a man who regards his time on earth as incredibly precious, i would like to extend a loaded and soon-to-be-discharged 12-gauge shotgun to the face of every person who ever has or who ever will retell the insidious and utterly outrageous lie that Martin Scorcese’s ultimate and unparalleled shitfest (aka “The Departed”) is a good movie.
Words simply cannot express what i’ve experienced in the last 2 hours and 24 minutes that have been shaved off the story of my life, never to be seen again.
Hear me now and believe me later: if you enjoyed this movie, you should actually be killed because you are a stupid, stupid, stupid asshole.
I hope I look that good when I'm 70
So last night I saw David Suzuki speak at the Burton Cummings Theatre – The “Cum” – here in Winnipeg. As usual he pummeled his audience with serious doses of science, reality, common sense, fear, dread and hope. If there was a single person who left last night not utterly horrified by the human-made environmental crisis facing us I would be shocked. And that person would be an idiot. Check out davidsuzuki.org to learn more about the science behind the man and for some useful suggestions on how to lesson our ecological footprint. For those living in Canada, go here to send a letter to the party shiteaters in Ottawa: http://www.davidsuzuki.org/tour/vote.asp. Dig?
